Endless possibilities in the extrusion of plastic profiles
At the heart of VBN’s production are 50 extruders, each of which featuring specific technical characteristics and special configurations. This technological equipment offers a virtually unlimited range of possibilities, demonstrating a truly extraordinary level of flexibility and versatility in the plastics processing sector. The large production capacity allows to develop mono-extruded profiles, with weights ranging from a few grams to nearly 8 kilograms per meter, and co-extruded profiles, in which plastic materials of different stiffness are combined in a single extrusion.

Extrusion and co-extrusion
Extrusion is a technique consisting in pushing a plastic material through a mold (the so called die) to produce a continuous product with a defined shape, such as tubes and profiles with different cross sections. This process forms the basis for the production of many everyday items, from building components to food packaging.
Co-extrusion represents an evolution of traditional extrusion. Several plastic materials are extruded simultaneously through a common die, forming a single product. This technique allows different properties, such as mechanical strength, thermal insulation or moisture resistance, to be combined into a single extrusion. This particular processing allows profiles to be created with a rigid core and soft surface or conversely with a soft core and rigid surface.
